The caracal is found in Africa and parts of the Middle East. It has a tawny or reddish-gold coat and a white chin. It is the fastest among the African wild cats and is a great hunter. They hunt for birds, rodents, and even mongooses as they are opportunistic predators.
Their strong hind legs allow them to leap up to 3 meters(10 feet) high to catch birds mid-air. They are also known to climb trees and store their catch just like the leopard does.
